Various people have asked me for my latest views on the war in Ukraine, so here goes. Essentially my views have not changed. Russia has no path to victory, and the longer the war goes on the worse it gets for Russia, and Putin. It's only a matter of time really before either Russian forces in Ukraine collapse, or we see Moscow trying to sue for some kind of peace (I think they have tried numerous times over the past year actually, e.g. thru the Turkish route).
Good as far as it goes but no mention of the hundreds of Bradleys? These killing machines are capable of an auspicious entry into this theater. We can not forget that Bradleys lead the charge in the "Greatest Tank Battle" of all time, they took out the first tanks, and wound up killing more armored vehicles than the main battle tanks https://youtu.be/72XLTfmcaAw?t=390
That was a good read. The Russian federation splitting at the end is almost too good to be true though. If so it really could lead to a furious rump Russia lashing out with small tactical nuclear weapons to keep rebellious states in and warn China to keep out. Or simply for reasons of pride. A hugely underrated emotion that nations can be lead by. Of course if the seceding states held and could operate any Russian nuclear weapons remaining on their soil in the chaos then there’s nothing Russia could do. They certainly wouldn’t ever give them up like Ukraine once did!

How has your position changed almost one year after writing this opinion?
Brilliant analysis of the situation and prospects for the future.
