One year on from Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, and it’s pretty clear that Russia has lost already so much on so many fronts because of Putin’s idiotic choices.
Enjoyed those twelve points. On the last one regarding the possible breakup of the Russian federation I can’t help but think China may be the biggest winner if that was to happen. All those breakaway states will be in the east, sparsely populated and resource rich. They will all look east themselves now and increasingly hug closer to China. Many have large illegal Chinese populations anyway. The EU is blocked by western Russia and its a tall order for the US to be the big player that deep in the Eurasian landmass.
I actually think this is bad news as however much I loathe Putins Russia and want it completely defeated in Ukraine I think the malign influence of China will be literally thousands of miles closer to Europe and we could feel it’s cold effects in time as much as we did the USSR once.
