What a day in Ukraine today with the Biden visit to Kyiv - a really brave move by Biden and perhaps the most consequential POTUS visit in post Soviet space since Bush’s visit to Georgia in 2005. The message from the Biden administration is absolutely clear - we stand firmly behind Ukraine, to the end, and it’s inevitable victory over Russia. If Biden can visit Kyiv then there are few limits to US support for Ukraine - fighter jets are a real possibility.
I wonder how naive the author's mind can be to suggest that the western "effort" has to do ANYTHING with "fighting for ukraine" or its people or even its utterly corrupt goverment.

Recently this has come across as an attritional war but with the arrival of western tanks it could suddenly become much more fluid. What will win out in a modern war? Western technological weaponry and methods from Ukraine or sheer numbers grit and staying power from Russia. If the Ukrainians don’t pull off at least one battlefield victory to show their fickle western backers before next winter then things will go to Russias favour going into 2024.
Backing off, meaning? Allowing Russia to steal Ukraine and conduct genocide against Ukrainians, like Bucha?
