In the end President Zelensky of Ukraine was able to put together a carefully worded statement that seems to have gone some way towards mollifying a crazed Trump administration that seemed to smell blood after the showdown in the White House on Friday.
We are all ukrainians now! Now Europe needs Ukraine more than Ukraine needs Europe. There in the east of Europe they know how to deal with the loss. They had to do it so many times and for so long that is second nature for them . They can fight when the time is right and reluctantly retreat in their little cottages when the weather is bad. But for us it's not so easy. We have lots to lose. The war will not really be coming to us but people like trump and putin will be elected to lead us back in a golden age when everyone knew his place in the grand scheme of things. And from east to west we will have less space to run and fewer places to hide. So... It is still time but little time!
